Shade Tuff Turf
Shade Tuff or Zoysia Matrella, is reputed by so many to be the King of turf grasses. It has excellent dark green coloring, with very fine leaves, it also has a low mow requirement, good wear recovery abilities. Shade Tuff has selective herbicide tolerances and a tolerance for low sun / shade situations. Many QDPI trials have shown that it is its suitable for a whole range of environmental situations. These include, shade areas salt affected and more acid soils. Shade Tuff Turf still requires at least 4 hours of sun per day.
Shade Tuff Turf
Grows quiet slowly and extremely looks inviting always. It has the ability to be mowed very short to achieve the bowling green like appearance. It can be cut between 20 mm and 30 mm or stay unmown as a feature type grass. ShadeTuff has a soft leaf feel, is thicker under-foot and has quiet small and inconspicuous seed-heads. It is considered to be one of the more ascetically pleasing of all the turf grasses. ShadeTuff will suit many presentation areas with full sun or under trees. It’s suitable for lawns affected by some shade, salt effected and even acid soils. Because of its high silica type levels it will tolerate the high traffic area, BBQ areas, playgrounds and path ways.
Shade Tuff Turf is also suitable to stabilise land in those erosion prone areas such as step embankments, and drains where mowing can be fairly difficult. This turf grass will need very little maintenance in those areas, other than in the installation period and while is is establishing itself. Due to Shade Tuff’s low grow nature, most of your embankments and drains will never need to be mowed. The functionality and appearance of this type of turf grass is extremely impressive, and it will significantly lower your maintenance budget for those hard too get at areas and other areas subjected to water erosion flows.
